Where the subsoil is weak, polypropylene geotextile membranes provide separation from the granular base aggregate.

Intermixing of the layers is prevented, effective water filtration occurs and the whole area is stabilised.

Various types readily available: Woven polyproplyene, thermally-bonded non-woven, non-woven fleece type.
